This pair was a special set of dolls that I made for some dear friends as a Yule gift. I can only present them together because of this fact. They are extra special because they were my first set, the first dolls I was willing to part with, and each one took about 8 hours to complete, the shortest time of any of my dolls. My explanation for that can be summed up in one word: dedication (and a rather fast approaching holiday deadline).

Fashion Fever Barbie makes a perfect Shaylee: Lady of the Forest. She has a partial facial repaint with golden eyes, make-up in pastel blue and green, and sparkly rose lipstick. Her ears have been sculpted to an Elvish point with air-drying paperclay. All paints are fine art acrylic, coated with a high quality varnish seal. Her hair has been partially permed and restyled. She wears a crinkled green dress with flowing pink and green sleeves. Her petal pink underskirt is accented with real cultured pearls on the beaded, metallic dangles. Her dress is finished with a silver bodice and a single purple glass gem. Her wings are a shimmering silver mesh over wire that can be posed, and her legs are wrapped with silver braided ribbon. She is draped with strands of silver and iridescent pearls, and a crown of silver and glass beads with a cultured pearl tops her head. A single pink rose finishes her look. All garments were sewn by hand, the material consists of polyester and acrylic. The rose hair ornament was an accessory of Fairy Tale Prince Ken Doll. All dolls are signed and dated.

Shaylee is a Celtic/Gaelic name that means “Fairy Princess of the Field.”
